You can find Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in Denver That’s Right for You

.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is increasingly being used to help people dealing with Treatment-Resistant Depression, Trauma, and Anxiety. If you have tried meds or therapy without much relief, there might be another option here in Denver…

Overcoming barriers to the relief you are looking for.

Many people have had the experience of regular talk therapy not providing relief. We all have natural defenses which arise for various reasons. While these defenses are totally natural for us as human beings, they sometimes keep us from being able to engage with our emotions and thoughts in ways that could help us. Ketamine has shown positive results in helping people bypass some of these defenses in order to engage with life in new ways. People report a range of experiences, based on the individual, as well as the route of administration. These experiences range from what we call the “psycholytic” which allows for engaging with emotions which would have otherwise been overwhelming; to the “psychedelic” in which people experience visuals which allows us to approach our experience in new creative ways which previously were unavailable to us.

The Power of Ketamine Combined with Therapy.

Ketamine displays some inherent effectiveness as a medication within itself. Combining this medication with talk therapy allows for a safe environment to invite and explore our experience of emotions. KAP is split between Medication Sessions and what we call Integration Sessions, which are more like your typical talk therapy session. It is important that you are able to integrate the changes you may experience in the Medications Sessions into the rest of life in order experience their full benefits. Following this structure allows us to use the medication as a means of entering into our experience instead of avoiding it. I work in collaboration with two Psychiatrists in order to provide the most appropriate route of administration for each person, whether that is a subcutaneous injection, nasal spray, or lozenges which are taken orally. When you meet with your Provider, they will give instructions on how to use the medicine appropriately, since psychotherapists (like myself) are not qualified to give instruction on the medical side of things.

Psychiatrists I Work With:

Dr. Charles Shuman

Dr. Shuman practices from his office at Confluence Psychiatry, just a block away from my practice at 789 Sherman Street, Denver, CO. I work with Dr. Shuman for clients who are going through injections. These ways of working require a medical personnel to monitor clients during Medicine Sessions, so I will meet with you at Dr. Shuman’s office for medicine sessions while Preparation/Integration/”regular” talk therapy sessions occur at my office.

Investment in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

My hourly rate is $165/hr

Ketamine medicine sessions are 2 hours minimum, with follow-up integration sessions and “regular” talk therapy sessions typically being 1 hour.

Dr. Clarice Baumgartner

Dr. Baumgartner’s practices her office in downtown Denver at Physician Psychedelics. Dr. Baumgartner provides intramuscular injections during medicine sessions in her office and prescribes lozenges for when medicine sessions will occur in my office. Current standards of care allow for these lozenge Medicine Sessions to occur in my office as you will have a prescription from Dr. Baumgartner and self-administer the lozenges during our session.
